We recommend that all adults should have DT booster every ten years. Certain occupations may require other immunisations. We encourage certain patients with chronic diseases and all those above the age of 65 years to be vaccinated against influenza every year. This is available in the late September by prior arrangement. Please ask reception, before September, if you think you should receive a flu vaccine.
The childrens immunisation programmes change annually and so your child might be eligible for any new vaccination and will receive an invite from the surgery. We do advise that your child is vaccinated if the guidance recommends this.
If you are planning to travel abroad, especially outside of Europe, you may need extra vaccinations. The nurse will give advice about necessary immunisations and general hygiene and health topics.
Please aim to contact the surgery at least four weeks before travelling, you may need extra vaccinations to be organised. Certain vaccinations are not available at the surgery. The contact details for other providers can be accessed online or by asking reception.
If you require medical advice when the surgery is closed please visit NHS 111. This will guide to the most appropriate service for your problem. In the event of a medical emergency or life threatening situation phone 999 or go directly to the nearest Accident & Emergency Department. Call 111 if it’s less urgent than 999.
